Description
The SmartGen HGM4020CAN is an advanced AMF (Auto Mains Failure) controller with CAN-bus (J1939) support, designed for single-unit generator automation. It monitors both mains and generator power, handles automatic transfer switching, and integrates with engine ECUs for start/stop and speed control.
The controller is built around a microprocessor that measures key parameters such as voltage, current, frequency, and power. It features a backlit 132 × 64 LCD screen with a multilingual interface and a durable silicone keypad. The device includes 5 digital inputs, 4 analog inputs for sensors (oil pressure, temperature, fuel level, etc.), and 6 relay outputs for start, stop, ATS, and other control functions.Additional features include scheduled start/stop, a maintenance timer, and event logging through a real-time clock. All configuration parameters are stored in non-volatile memory to retain settings after power loss. The controller is powered by a wide DC supply (8–35 V) and housed in a robust ABS case suitable for operating temperatures from –25 °C to +70 °C.
