Description
The SmartGen HGM4020N is a comprehensive AMF (Auto Mains Failure) controller designed to automate single-unit generator sets. It continuously monitors both mains and generator lines, managing automatic switching when utility power fails and restoring when power returns. The controller is optimized for reliability, safety, and precision.
It features a backlit 132 × 64 LCD display with support for eight languages, paired with a durable silicone keypad. It has 5 digital inputs (including 2 multifunction), 4 analog sensor inputs, and 6 configurable relay outputs for functionalities like start, stop, pre-heat, idle, and ATS control.
The HGM4020N supports real-time monitoring of electrical parameters—including voltage, current, power, and frequency—for both mains and generator sources. It includes protection functions such as over/under voltage, phase loss on mains, and over/under voltage and frequency on the generator.
Configuration is flexible: parameters can be adjusted from the front panel or via PC over USB or RS‑485. The controller also supports scheduled start/stop, maintenance timers, and stores up to 99 event logs in its built-in real-time clock. All settings are held in non-volatile memory, so they survive power cycles. Designed for compatibility with generator battery systems, it runs on a DC supply of 8–35 V and functions reliably in harsh environments with an operating temperature range of –25 °C to +70 °C.
