Description
The SmartGen HGM7220CAN is a powerful AMF (Auto Mains Failure) controller for single‑unit generator sets, featuring a CAN (J1939) communication interface. It is designed to seamlessly manage automatic start/stop operations, monitor key generator parameters, and enable remote control and data acquisition via CAN. This controller uses a 32-bit microprocessor for accurate measurement of voltage, current, frequency, power, and engine sensor data. The large backlit LCD display and multilingual interface provide intuitive operation, while push-button controls with a silicone keypad are rugged and user-friendly.
With seven digital inputs, eight relay outputs, and five configurable sensor inputs, the HGM7220CAN offers robust flexibility for engine monitoring (e.g., oil pressure, temperature, fuel level) and control (e.g., start, stop, idle, pre‑heat). It supports both CANBus (J1939) and RS485 communication, enabling integration with modern engine ECUs or control networks. Running on a wide DC supply range (8–35 V), the controller maintains stable operations in a variety of starting systems. It stores all configuration parameters in non-volatile memory, supports event logging, real-time clock functions, and maintenance timers. The physical housing is rugged and suited for tough installation environments.
